Hello...I was just wondering has anyone applied to a OT program with a Bachelor's Degree but have not finished all pre-req. Would a program accept you if you are missing 2 or 3 pre-reqs, but you are currently enrolled in those class.

I applied to OT schools with two pre-reqs in progress and two to be taken the following semester. As far as I know, its perfectly fine to have courses in progress, as long as they will be completed by the time the program begins.

If you have classes in progress, talk to the programs and explain which classes they are. Most schools want you to have at least the first anatomy finished before applying. Some schools are more specific (I know TWU required 1 bio, 1 soc/psy and something else before applying)

Definitely don't be discouraged just because you have classes in progress. (I guess I should mention that I interviewed at both schools I applied to and will be attending UTMB in the fall).

I had 6 outstanding prerequisites when I applied. 3 were in progress, 2 to be done in an abbreviated winter session and 1 during the current spring semester. It shouldn't be a problem, however it is important to get in your A&P1 grade as soon as possible. While I was able to apply with the courses in progress, my #1 choice school did not invite me to interview until I submitted the final grade for that class.

It completely depends on what school you are applying to. I'm finishing up 2 now but I couldn't have applied if I had more than that left to finish up.

Generally, not a problem, and when accepted, it is contingent upon completion of all incomplete pre-reqs. One program I'm aware of ... Ohio State U ... provides penalty points for courses yet to be completed @ time of application review. Unaware if other programs penalize unfinished courses in this manner.

depends on the school, I know around where I live there have to be a certain number of the pre-req's met by the time you apply. Check the websites, or email admissions.

Just to add my two cents... depending on your background, it can be in your interest to have them all done. I could have applied this past fall, and have completed the prereqs by this coming fall. But, I was low on the sciences and really wanted two A&P grades at the time of application review to show that I have science abilities. (I got an A last semester and am on track to get an A this semester.) If you have a situation like that... haven't taken a lot of science courses, or have a lower GPA, etc., you might want to wait even if these schools to which you're applying will accept your application.

I would second lizzo...
if you are weak in the hard sciences, and still have those classes outstanding, that wont look good. They need more to go on in that situation.
