First of all, does it really matter what anyone thinks of your chances?

and Second, are you even going to change your choices if someone doesn't agree with your list?

If anything, add more safety schools.

"Your game for DO, but another MCAT couldn't hurt unless you don't improve. I'd say live and breathe EK Verbal for the next few months then see if theres a big enough improvement to take your chances."

"Hi so I'm a senior desperately needing someone to size me up and give me some advice for additional courses this summer. Below are my stats and short resume. (Sorry the post is soo long)"

and Second, are you even going to change your choices if someone doesn't agree with your list?

If anything, add more safety schools.

Please give me some useful advice.

Where's the bitterness coming from? The OP asked a legit question and it's a very common inquiry...which is why they've created it's own subforum for it. I think the OP has a very good shot at the schools he listed and I also agree with you that he should add a couple of safeties.

Nice MCAT score. OP, you definitely have a shot at your favorites. Your extracurriculars are excellent as posted. I don't see that you mention any leadership experience. Why are you not applying during the 2009 season since you are ready to go?

you were a little vague on your research. "pubs" = 1 or 2 2nd authors? 3 or 4 3rd, 4th authors? one or two 1st authors? Research matters the most for these top programs. Leadership means nothing and something at the same time. You can dance around that without being president of anything. I was never asked about these in my interviews. But, you are very very strong so I would expect you to get into JHU, Stanford for sure. Harvard is a different kind of beast, but I think you're there too.

And no, you don't need more safeties. You'll get rejected from them for having too good of numbers. I'd delete Tufts.... You're also competitive for UCSF.

Thanks for the encouragement. BTW, seeing your profile, did you already graduate from college? I mean to win the Marshall dont you need to already have a degree under your belt? Just curious. BTW, congrats on your acceptances. I hope to replicate them, to an extent.

Thanks man. My nonprofit has helped raised a lot of money and has other intangible benefits as well. I think/hope that counts as leadership. I founded it. Also, I had a few pubs, cant be specific about them as I want to stay anonymous.

Monster stats...btw, does EMT really help in standing out from the pack, seeing that you are a private and have dedicated so many hours to it? Did joining crew also serve you well? I am considering joining crew at my uni very soon. Hope to be like you soon. Good luck, though you wont need it.

Your stats are very good. But as this thing is very unpredictable sometimes, I'd also add another safety school. I think you'll get into at least one of those top schools, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Best of luck with the apps this summer! :luck:

I would be very surprised if you don't get positive responses from any or all of the schools you have listed. Just remember, places like those have great candidates across the board, and they are looking for good *people*. Most will have great scores and all that garbage, which frankly gets boring, so set yourself apart with a good, friendly, non-arrogant attitude, maybe even relaxed a bit, throw in your passion for what you like and your mailbox will be full of the "big envelopes" or how ever they do it these days. (I started in 2000, back before electricity). Best of luck, but I doubt you'll need much of it.

How old are you?

Your chances are 100% unless you are a complete dick at all your interviews. 3.9 and 41 w/ those EC's....lol why even ask!

While I do agree that those stats are amazing, there are always students with ultra-competitive stats that get rejected from the top schools. I would say apply to the top tier (Harvard, Hopkins) no doubt, but also apply broadly, low and mid tier, although the low tier may reject him because they doubt that he would attend their school if accepted (it happens). He'll most likely get into the top of the top, but he should apply to schools at other levels just in case.
