Can anyone please tell me if I have to report or how I report AP credits on the AMCAS? Do I apply it as my freshman year but list it as a high school class??

I tried doing a search before asking but came up with a lot of unrelated threads or threads that don't answer my question. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! 🙂

With AP credits, you're supposed to report them exactly the way they show up on the transcript for whatever institution gave you those credits.

most schools include your AP credits with your 1st semester grades from freshman year. if thats the case, then on AMCAS you include them as part of your 1st semester grades from freshman year of undergraduate study, so your status is still freshman in college, not HS but you click the box that says Advanced Placement. The letter grade I think is supposed to be G.

For example, I received AP credits for Gen Chem. On my transcript it says:

Chem101-0 General Chem - Cr. 1
Chem102-0 General Inorganic - Cr.1
Chem103-0 General Phys Chem - Cr. 1

my English credits looked different

Eng1LC - Enlish Language and Comp Credit - Cr. 2

It depends on how your school reported them on your transcript, just copy them exactly.

My AP credits are included with all my high school info at the beginning of my transcript along with SAT scores, my admission index number, etc - not with freshman grades. Where do I put those?

Thanks a bunch!!! Really helpful! 🙂

It says on the AMCAS instructions sheet to apply all AP, CLEP, and exempt courses as Freshman status under the school to which the credit was applied... 👍

dittos to all this. at my ugrad they gave back credit for some upper level courses that i didn't take until after freshman year, so i put these under whatever semester they were granted on my amcas.
