Applying before completeing Org II

By the end of this academic year, I will have completed all my pre-reqs except for Organic II. There are a few DO schools that I would definitely go to if I got accepted, and I was thinking about applying this May if I my next two semesters go as well as I hope.

I was thinking about calling these schools and asking them what their policy was in regards to applying before a pre-req was completed, but I figured I could ask some of you before I do that, as you may have been in a similar situation or may know what I could do.

I could take Organic II in the summer and be done with it by August, so can you send your grade with a secondary down the road?

I don't see this as a problem. There isn't much ochem on the MCAT, and what ochem is there is from early on. Every app I've filled out has room to say what prereqs you haven't completed yet. A school that accepts you will simply want to see that you finished the prereqs before you start med school.

Another option would be to apply later. I am taking a year "off" and am having the time of my life right now!

No problem with that. I've yet to take O Chem II and it doesn't seem to have made any difference in my application process.

The schools would not be able to see how I did in upper level classes though, as the only other science class I could take by then would be genetics

Do you guys think that would have an impact on my application

For the people who said they haven't taken Ochem II yet have you taken your MCAT. If so, did you think you did worse since you haven't taken that class yet?

I am horrible at chem. I got a C+ in orgo 1 and a D in orgo 2 and took it a year and a half before i took my mcat and got a 10vr 9ps 9bs. I am completely clueless in chem and if I can get a 9 in bs and understand orgo well enough you should do fine. Most of the orgo was from orgo 1 and all you need to learn is NMR and spectroscopy.
