I heard that you can apply to pod school before you finish all of your prereqs, and you (obviously) just have to finish them before matriculation. Does this mean that I could take physics my senior year and still apply during the summer after my junior year? Or is applying before finishing prereqs more for people who are applying before they receive their mcat scores? Has anyone done this or know of anyone who has? Would this hurt your chances of being accepted?
Thank you!!!

are u planning on taking the mcat without taking physics?

----sounds like my situation last year....

I applied without finishing all my pre-reqs....Actually, I was taking phys1 during fall 08....Phys2 spring 09.........MCAT= May09......

Interviewed/accepted pod. school during the fall 08...."conditional acceptance pending completion of pre-reqs & MCAT"------so yes, it can be done....

However, pushing the physics pre-req to your senior year, sets u somewhat at a disadvantage......Start studying NOW, for your MCAT-----bio/ochem/chem/rc...etc...So when you finish phys2, that's all you gotta study.....everything else will be a "refresher."

Don't think that you're gonna waltz in & magically score 24+ on it. Start grabbing study books..So prepare now, & save yourself the unneeded pressure during the summer before you matriculate......

Thanks! Thats awesome, I thought that I might have to wait a year to apply and then have a year to wait between graduating and pod school. For them to accept you conditionally do you have to have a near perfect GPA?

no, I was thinking about taking the GRE instead since a few schools accept that, but I think im going to try what allenmarchallo said and study for it in sections. Big dumb me didn't realize that I didn't have to finish all my classes before I start studying for the MCAT, lol. I stress out about things and then make my life more complicated than it needs to be.:scared:

Who even takes the GRE anymore??? The only one that comes to mind is Temple, maybe Barry. 2/9 schools is really limiting yourself, but to each his own.

TUSPM is the only one that takes the GRE, but I thought that since I was taking physics senior year I could either take the GRE and apply to one school and have a possibility of getting in somewhere or wait a whole year to apply.

I believe NYCPM excepts GRE scores as well...even though it doesn't say so on their website.
