Fellow SDN'ers, I have searched and read numerous threads, but I have a question regarding applying early that has not been answered.

If schools already have an applicants application and they are just waiting for the applicants DAT scores (and the rest of their application is totally complete), what is considered a "late" day to take the DAT. Do schools set a specific date to offer first round interviews, then wait until all of those are over to start the 2nd round? If that is the case, does anyone know roughly when the batches go out, and which schools do that? I heard that if your app. is complete by september, you are in "mediumly early "is this true? Is taking the DAT in mid August too late even if every other aspect of an applicants application is complete?

Thanks,
Mike

P.S. how are you all geniuses and getting 20's on the dat, I hate/love you all.

Yes, I need an answer for this too!!! anyone know?

Yes, I knew there would be someone out there with the same question. Why doesn't anyone answer?

well I always wonder the same thing but I know multiple people that took their DAT in August last summer and ended up getting interviews at a lot of schools but most of the interviews weren't until Late November and December. I think if you want to here back by Dec 1st, August might be cutting it a little close but then again some schools are faster than others.

Look at school deadlines. Of course, you want to send DAT scores much earlier than any school deadline because it is always recommended to turn in everything early because they will not look at your application. For most schools I have talked/research, the deadline is usually end of August to September. Hope that helps! Good luck all!
