I was looking over the paperwork that has to be filled out and submitted to receive an intern license as a pharmacist in GA. There is a section that asks for employer information (name of pharmacy, name of supervising pharmacist, supervising pharmacist's license #, etc.), as well as a section that is supposed to be filled out by the supervising pharmacist himself/herself.

So are we supposed to already have employment lined up with a specific pharmacy/pharmacist that is willing to hire us? Is it not possible to get the license now, and get a job lined up later on?

Hoping one of the GA posters can help me out here. Thanks...

You don't have too. A good handful of my classmates got positions after they got their license.

Thanks, so I can just leave that part of the form blank? It would basically mean leaving an entire page blank. Just seems like it's a required part of the application, but maybe I'm wrong.

BTW, what's the deal with not being allowed to get intern hours during school semesters? The application says I will only be able to work during breaks, which will make it harder to get the required number of intern hours for me. Also, students have to work at least 20 hours/week or the hours don't count? What about all the students who talk about working one 8 or 10-hour shift per week?

Pretty much. I still have classmates who have yet to work but the entire class was required to get their intern license so I know they must have left it blank.

Pretty much IPPE and APPE do not count towards your intern hours. Nor do any hours worked during the school year. But for example, this current week during the holidays I just finished up 46 hours and that will count towards my 1500. It should be too difficult as long as your plan ahead with your summers. Summers alone should get you there. The 8-10 hour shifts per week is your company requirement, not state board.

DM me if you have any other questions. Ill gladly answer what I can.
