Hi,

I´m an IMG in my last year of med school and I wish to do an elective in Canada. I want to apply at several universities at the same time in case I don't find a placement in one, or possibly any.

I want to know what are the consequences if I cancel the elective once I have been accepted, other than not being refunded the fee paid for the elective.

I am worried about this because I read the following in the McMaster webpage: "cancellation of a confirmed elective is considered unprofessional and can result in a letter denoting this unprofessional behaviour sent to your school."

Is this the same for McGill, Northern Ontario University, etc?

Many thanks in advance!

I checked Northern Ontario and it doesn't seem to say anything so your best bet is to call them and ask. You'll never know for sure and u'd be surprised at the discrepancies between what a university says on its website and what it is in real life.
