You can just ignore these e-mails. When i finished my Residency 6-7 years back, i used to get the same e-mails. What i did.... i made a "JOBS" folder in my e-mail account and i would put all these e-mails in that folder. In my free time i would read these e-mails and have fun. Some of them would feel very appealing and i did go for a interviews via these recruiters, but then i got a Hospitalist job just across the street from my home, so it was the end of the story. I still get these e-mails and enjoy reading them.

If you want to apply to a particular area/city, i would suggest to send your CV to most/all of the hospitals in that City (to the Director Human Resources, or a physician recruiter which is mainly a nurse manager).... If you want to apply to an academic setting, you can use the NEJM Jobs (exclude those from recruiters)... I would suggest to avoid seasoned recruiting trappers like Cogent, Incompass, IPC, etc etc..

Good Luck... Hospitalist is the right path and has a great future.
