applying for OAt

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
What do you mean 3 months in advance?
It's obviously better to have to done before you start your application. I say the sooner the better. For example, I found out everything about Optometry admissions on my own through this forum, had I know about OAT, I would've taken it a year before my applications. That way, if I wanted to get higher scores before I apply to schools, I would've had the chance. Since, I'm applying for Fall 2013, my only chance for OAT is this summer before September 1st 2012.

The sooner you start studying for it and doing it, the more advantageous it is for you.

Hope this helps you and good luck!

I mean how soon can you register before taking the OAT.. since I want to do my OAT by august, I heard that the space fills up so you have to register 3 months before taking it..is it true..? I'm applying of fall 2013

Generally, it's advised to register for your OAT about 90 days before you anticipate taking it. That way, you can guarantee a spot at the prometric center. Where I am from, the spots to take the test at the nearby prometric center filled up very quickly so I was able to sign up to take the OAT 3 months in advance and secure the ideal date for when I wanted to take the it
