Can you use some of the same LORs you used to apply to internship (for example, 2 of the ones from internships apps (3rd-4th year attendings), and one from internship attending)?

I think that I might. I guess I don't see the problem unless you are re-applying to the same program and/or the program you are already at? I am going to get copies of mine from my school so they don't get "misplaced."

I think a letter from someone who can better evaluate your performance as an intern (rather than a medical student) would be far better in this situation. You may not have time to collect 2-3 new letters, but at least one new letter would be beneficial.

Applying for PGY2 during internship....

....Is to applying during 4th year as having all ten of my toenails pulled out is to having just 5 of my toenails pulled out.

Hahahaaha, that's funny. Are you currently doing this?

Yes. Unless you love filling out paperwork and playing the sorority rush game all over again, I don't recommend it. Especially since the fatigue of internship kind of interferes with my ability to truly care at this point.

Many are in my position by choice, some not so much. Could better decisions have been made in order to avoid this? Hindsight is 20/20.

Funny thing is, you apply to med school and get in and then to residency and you think it's the end of the application process as you know it, but you can't forget about fellowship, jobs, etc. In other words, it doesn't seem to end. Plus as you get more advanced, you have more responsibility and eventually the obligation of your practice and your patients and your family.....:scared:

Seriously though, the neat thing is that I'm a doctor now and I have the added rose-colored sunglasses attitude that somehow, things will be OK.👍
