Hello

I am a Canadian university student thinking about applying to Australian pharmacy schools (Bachelor of Pharmacy).

My high school grade was quite good (91-92%) but I have not done well since I have entered university. Right now my university GPA is between 77-78%. 🙁 I'm not sure how this converts to 4.0 scale but I think it's about 3.2).

Is my university GPA competitive enough for any pharmacy schools in Australia like Queensland, James Cook, etc?

Are there any Canadians or other international students who have been accepted to Australia pharmacy schools and wouldn't mind sharing their stats?

Thanks!

I'm not sure how exactly the gpa is converted from the scale of 100 to 4.0 but usually in the States, a 77-78 correlates to a C-C+ range which translates to a 2.2-2.5. a gpa of 3.2 in the States translates to nearly a B+, which would be 85-88ish.

I believe the Canadian and American grading systems are different. Even within the province of Ontario, different universities have different grading systems but if these universities go by percentages, usually they convert to:

high 70s --> B+ --> 3.3
80-84% --> A- --> 3.7
85% or above --> A or A+ --> 4.0

I do wish there was an online calculator for any pharmacy hopefuls can use to figure out their exact GPA. 😳
