Hey guys,

I'm currently doing my undergraduate in Health Science (minor in psychology) and I've decided I will finish my program then apply to a number of US schools. I checked the prerequisites for US schools but am a bit confused by them. Which science credits and how many will I have to take as prerequisites before applying? My program doesn't require any math, physics or economics courses and only one chemistry and english course (1 semester each) but I do plan on taking organic chemistry and maybe biochemistry. Besides this, is there any other factors I should consider before applying to the US?

Thanks

Each school has its own set of prerequisites, so there is no master list of courses you need to take to get into a US school. What I would suggest is figuring out which US programs you are most interested in applying to, and looking at what courses they require. For sciences, in general you'll need at least a year each of biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry. Some schools may require biochemistry, microbiology, anatomy/physiology, immunology, genetics, or something else entirely. There are also non-science prerequisites.

Another thing to keep in mind is whether or not a given school even accepts non-US students, including Canadians. This is something I have no knowledge of. Maybe someone else can chime in on that?

Good luck!

Which university do you go to? Why do you want to go to the US instead of staying in Canada?

my suggestion is to look into private schools cuz they don't have a quota for how many Canadian or international students that they take, also keep in mind that some schools will require you to send your transcript to third party ie: WES to verify the legimacy of the institution you attended
