Hey guys,
I need advice. I'm trying to raise my science gpa by taking a couple of summer science courses. I won't have my grades till Aug 17th and won't take the DAt tehrefore until the end of August. Is applying in August too late? Thanks.

A couple of science courses won't raise your GPA a great deal especially if you already have completed the majority or all of your degree requirements and are set to graduate. If your GPA is very low, you can either submit now and take your chances and/or take some post-bac courses or obtain a Masters degree in the interim and then apply next year.
As for applying at the end of August, unless you have stellar stats, your probably will miss the first interviews for most schools. As an example, Case has a reputation for interviewing very early (Late July/August), whereas Tufts won't send out invites until Septmber. I'm not sure how long it will take for your official DAT scores to reach the schools/AADSAS, or if you have submitted all other documents (LOR, trancript) but unless you're on the ball things are starting to work against you. Having said that, by the time AADSAS sends off your application, it will probably be early October before any schools will even begin to look at your app. IMO
So, yeah, unless you kill your DAT, and/or have a good GPA, LORs, and some decent EC. You are fighting for the remaining spots as the interviews are after the first admission round (Dec. 1).
