Hi all, I'm planning to take my DAT's this summer (in June) and wanted to get a better understanding of where to apply and such. I really want to get into Boston University and was wondering how hard it is to get in and what extra curriculars I need and stuff. If anyone who attends there could PM me that would be awesome. My grades are well (3.8) and I have been getting more involved in school and stuff. I have no research experience and I plan to volunteer a bit soon as well. I'm hoping to crush the DAT's but I'm worried because I'm not a good test taker. Anyways thanks for the help!

Your grades look good. I would take your DAT earlier than June so you can apply right when the cycle opens (~June 1). Also, if you have a 3.8 you aren't a ad test-taker, so don't use that as an excuse. Study hard and you will do fine. As far as extracurriculars, just join some clubs that interest you and volunteer at the local clinic. Don't forget to do ~20 hours or so of shadowing as well. Good luck.

Thanks! I guess I'll plan to take it mid May. I want to spend 2 weeks before I get out of school to do a quick review and practice some more. how important is it that I shadow a doctor. Will I be asked about it on an application or the interview?

some (most? all??) schools require it. plus, it's always good to shadow someone and see what it's really like so you are sure you want to do it for the rest of your life
