Im gonna be taking the MCAT Late August/Early Sept. I plan on applying to all chicago schools this year. Im hoping to score in the mid 30's, but thats just an estimate. I have a 3.66 GPA. I really want to go to NU, but the more I read about applying the more I fill myself with doubt. I dont want to get denied and have to reapp; Ive read that applying as a reapp hurts your chances? So even if I do relatively well on my MCAT will my chances worsen? Idk, Id appreciate some honest feedback, bc I am struggling. Also, the deadline is Oct 15th for a reason right? HELP!

Unless you plan on applying more broadly, I would wait. NU won't be too accepting of someone with a 33 and 3.66 who is complete in October. If you plan on applying to more schools besides the ones in Chicago, you might get an acceptance but your late app will hurt you. If you take a year off, you can improve your GPA a little for NU and other schools, take the MCAT either now or early next year, and then apply early and improve your chances everywhere.

I don't know much about how being a reapp affects your chances. Hopefully someone else can answer that for you.

Agree with the above post. If you apply late, you need to compensate for it by applying broadly. Since you are looking at a specific area, I would wait.
