Hi everyone,
I won't be able to get my sub-I letter in time for applications. :scared:
How much of a black mark will it be, to apply with a department letter, a research letter, and two letters from my medicine core -- assuming other parts of the application are relatively strong?
Thanks!

Happens all the time. If you'll be doing your SubI after applications are submitted but before interviews are done / ranking, consider saving one LOR slot for a SubI letter. Alternatively, you could email a SubI letter to those programs that have interviewed you if you've used all 4 ERAS letters.

Didn't want to start a new thread, so I'll bump this old one.

It may be too early to be thinking about this, but I was curious as to whether one needs a letter from the sub-I/AI or whether you can just use letters from 3rd year + chair. I was just concerned since my AI is scheduled after ERAS goes out (and it's difficult to move), so a letter from that rotation would be late. I otherwise have decent stats for IM (Honors in IM core, 240+ Step 1, research in another field, etc) and multiple potential letter writers from M3. Will that work, or should I try (again) to move my sub-I?

I matched into Medicine and haven't even done my Sub-I yet. You will be fine.
