Quick Q:
So to clarify, from my spring semester of Junior year onward, my grades don't play a role in the Numbers game, right? I'm sitting on a 3.973 cum w/4.0 sci GPA. I am taking 18 credits, currently abroad, and think I may not get all A's because I'm busy doing new things. Even if I get straight A's my GPA will go to a 3.98 only which I don't think matters.

I've really wanted to challenge myself outside the sciences, and next semesters I will be taking some really intense and challenging History courses. I'll have to adapt different study habits and planned to take these my senior year accordingly in fear that I am not the best writer/reader/Historian.

It's important for me though to take these classes. But I want some affirmation whether the grades henceforth may hurt my chances even though they will not be counted on AMCAS unless I send an update.

Thanks 🙂

All of your final grades (at the time you apply) have to be included in the AMCAS application. If you're applying during the summer after your junior year all of the grades from your junior year must be included.
You're also required to submit a terminal transcript after graduation. Though, from what I understand, these don't matter unless theres a SIGNIFICANT drop in your performance. Theres a poster in these forums whose GPA dropped 0.2 their senior year and they werent so much as asked about it when they matriculated.

Grades your senior year don't need to be released to the schools you've applied to unless you want to send them in an update or the school asks for them.

Cheers!

Awesome! I am relieved to know I can focus more on learning and less on grades my senior year 🙂

Thank you schwabejr 😎
