Hey everbody, I know it seems I never post anything, but I'm on this website 24/7, trying to see what the hell to do with my life.

Heres the plan...i have a 2.73 right now. At the end of the quarter it'll be a 2.91. I'm planning on taking the last two O-chem courses in the summer, so I won't have the orgo grades in my app, but I COULD have this quarter's grades in the app if I apply at around june 15 (thats when the quarter's out). I'm planning on taking my DAT as soon as i finish my orgo classes in the summer, around august 10th. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Considering I DO have the money to apply to dental schools right now, do you think its a good idea? Or do you think I should wait? I guess the real question here, is would it be better if dental schools saw that I applied only once, or would it be in my favor for dental schools to see that, its this guy's second time he applies, he really wants this...please help...many thanks in advance...

You said that orgo will not appear on your transcripts if you apply now, so therefore I suggest you apply now. Most likely your grades will fall even lower after orgo, so better to hide it by sending in your app early.
On the other hand, you're DAT scores will be very important since your GPA is so low, and you need to take orgo before you take the DAT.
Catch 22

Make sure you do very well on those DATS. Apply early! You will increase your chances. Your essay better be DAMN Good as well and you have good references. You will need all the help you can get. No offence to you, I am just being blunt and honest. 2.73 is tight. There is an old saying, if you are gonna do it, do it right or dont' do it at all. In your case however, there would be an exception but don't "try" and test the waters to see if you get in. Make sure you write your application to the best of your ability like you want to get in. Many people make the mistake of, well i'm gonna apply to see what my chances are. Because sometimes applying twice may not be in your favour and sometimes it will but You don't want to take the risk nor waste your time and money if it is not necessary. MAKE SURE YOUR APPLICATION is the BEST DAMN APPLICATION YOU WILL EVER WRITE up to date.

Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate the input, I think I'm just gonna for it, and see what happens. I've got everything pretty much ready and im gonna do my best and see what happens🙂 thanks!

good luck P.

like woodsy said, at this pint just make sure your statement letter and LOR's are very good.

I'm sorry guys, but just another quick one, how early is early? the apps are supposed to be available today....but if the GPA is gonna be the difference of 2.73 if I apply now and 2.92 if I apply on june 10th, do you think i should wait till june, or do you think its not that much of an increase? its pretty much like im getting a 3.8 this quarter, so i would like for them to see that, but is it worth waiting till june? thanks!🙂

Applications will be received from now on, however - June 1st is when AADSAS starts processing applications. So, the next couple of weeks will not make any difference if you apply today or in 14 days. Like the others suggested, this is a good time for you to polish your LORS and Personal Essay.

Good Luck

Catch 22

Theres really no point in trying to hide future grades from schools, especially if they are prereqs. The schools will eventually find out.

Why isnt Orgo part of the BCP grade, and Orgo lab is? Is there a mistake in the course codes.
thanks

What are you talking about? Organic chem, lecture and lab, is part of BCP

Under the course codes supplied by AADSAS, there is only one star next to Orgo, and not two stars, indicating that it is part of the Science grade but not part of the BCP grade. I am looking at this current cycle when applying. Orgo is listed as 4008. Is this a mistake? thanks
