Hi,
I will be applying to dental school this cycle, but am leaving the country on THURSDAY. I do not want to forget to complete everything I must do while Im in the country, so I was hoping people could offer checklists on things I MUST do while Im here.

I need to file for my official transcripts to be sent, but should I get one for myself to refer to when filling out my application? Such advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Just finish your application before you go. You will need to get your transcripts mailed. That seems like the only thing you really need to do.

leaving the country poses some risks. transcripts could be lost, which has certainly happened before. it takes weeks for AADSAS to get your transcripts, process those and the rest of your application. then you can expect your applications to be sent sometime the end of june/early july. By that point, you'll be in the clear.

Just run through the list and check it twice 🙂

If you're really careful/paranoid, I'm sure the schools can expedite your transcripts in 1-3 days (for extra $$$). Then you can call in to double check that everything's arrived. Print out your AADSAS confirmation. And you're good to go.

I wouldnt worry about your transcripts too much, if your school is anything like mine all it would take is an email to someone to have them resent (actually now that i think of I requested mine online to begin with) unless you are not going to have access to the internet (which is not smart considering you need to check to make sure things ahve arrived at aadsas) then you should be good.
