Got my scores back recently. Here's as much information as I feel comfortable disclosing

Traditional, female student at public universty in MI

cGPA: 3.9
sGPA: 3.8

MCAT: 11, 11, 11 (33R)

ECs:

  • Biochemistry Research for 2 years (few grants, but no publication yet though :( )

  • Volunteered at two hospitals (one for two years, the other for a few months)
  • Volunteered at a senior center for a few months
  • Member of a Disaster Action Team (meet with families after they have disasters and set them up with a hotel/food/clothing)
  • Couple of leadership positions
  • On IM sports teams
  • Shadowed three or four different doctors (one for a few months)
My list is shaping up like this so far:

Match:
Michigan State
Wayne State
University of Illinois

Reach:
Case Western
Ohio State
University of Iowa

Longshot:
U of Chicago
Northwestern
NYU
University of Michigan
Pittsburgh
Penn

So, what do you think? Too many reaches/longshots?

Thanks for your advice everyone!! :)

SIU doesn't take OOSers.

I disagree with your categories. Your LizzyM score is 73: MCAT score + (cGPA X 10) + 1 = Your Score. School score doesn't include the +1.

List of least-selective schools 66-68: Consider researching 66/ MSU, 67/Virginia Commonwealth, EVMS, Drexel, NYMC, Tulane, UIllinois, Rush, GWU, 68/Temple, Toledo, Buffalo, Loyola, Loma Linda,

69-71: 69/MCW, UVermont, Jefferson, SUNY Upstate, UCentral Florida, Albany, Creighton, Wayne, Rosalind Franklin, Georgetown, 70/UWisconsin, Penn State, Wake, UNCarolina, SUNY Upstate, SLU, UMinnesota, UIowa, UMiami, 71/UCincinnati, Boston.

72-74: 72/UVirgina, OhioState, Case, URochester, Einstein, Dartmouth, UColorado, 73/Vanderbilt, UPenn, NYU, Tufts, Emory, Stanford, 74/UPitt, Duke, Mt Sinai, Columbia, Mayo, UMichigan,

75-77: 75/Baylor, Cornell, Harvard, Hopkins, UChicago, Northwestern, Yale 77/WashU.

I'll probably add 7 to 8 more schools as I do more research on where I would most like to go.

Thanks so much for the advice! :)
