Do you have to take the NBDE 1+2 in order to apply to a residency program?

I mean, one of the way to get licensed is to complete a US residency program ... so why not kill 2 birds with the same shot?

NDB scores give u an advantage
GRE is a must
my director just chose another resident since she had both NDB scores (decent scores not excellent) adds to ur application...
Soem schools dont want it

Could you please share with us the details about your friend's acceptance in the residency program? Did he/she graduate from US accredited school or is a foreign trained dentist?
