Applying to Azusa Pacific

Hey everyone,

I know that APU starts their program in February, but I am a little confused about when to apply. On PTCAS, it says that the firm application deadline for the class beginning Feb. 2014 is May 2013. However, on the APU website it says that "Applications are accepted year-round, however, to ensure consideration for the February start date, completed applications should be received by October 1."

So when are you supposed to apply?? I'm afraid I won't have enough PT hours completed by May, but if the deadline isn't until October I should be all set.

So this application ends on May 2013. if you want to submit it by Oct, then you have to start all over. I find it a pain in the @ss.

So if I apply after May, would I still be in the cycle for Feb 2014? And if so, what's the point of the May deadline? Sorry, I just switched to pre-PT so I'm unfamiliar with the process and still a little confused lol.

Welp, after digging deeper I found this...

"PT applicants to APU's 2014 entering class can apply either between..
Nov 1, 2012 and May 15, 2013 using the 2012-13 PTCAS application *OR*
Jul 1, 2013 and Oct 1, 2013 using the 2013-14 PTCAS application.

The PTCAS application is closed between May 15 and June 30 every year. Apply only once to an entering class. APU will not reconsider applicants who apply to the same entering class twice and PTCAS will not issue a refund for this reason."

Everything is cleared up now, thank you so much for your help!

Pubicsymphysis: your from Cali right? What's the cost of living around azusa and how's the area? My buddy got a job in Hollywood with a film company. how bad do you think the commute would be if I shacked up with him?

Yes I am! The cost at Azusa is fairly cheap, I think i heard its about $800-900 for two bedroom. Its a decent community but I think someone told me the crime rate is kinda high (not to sure). The commute from hollywood to AP is about 35 minutes. Traffic can get pretty bad. From my place to LA, i would leave at 645 so I dont hit traffic. If you leave around 7:10.. you can be in traffic for 1 hour and 30 mins. 🙁

Yeah the traffic is what I was afraid of But for rent that cheap I wouldnt be making the commute lol there tuition is pretty steep tho too.

haha but nonetheless! CA is awesome!
