I am a DO 4th year applying to peds, not a super strong candidate. I applied to all 17 of the DO programs and 10 MD. I currently have 4 interviews in each.
All of the DO programs that I've gotten invites from are dual accredited. I'm wondering if I should submit applications for these programs through the MD side too. In theory, it would take me from 4 to 8 interviews, making my chances to match MD greater. But I also don't know if that would work, considering my interviews are through the DO side. If they have designated DO spots, they may not want me taking up MD space, so to speak.
Has anyone applied to both the MD and DO tracks and had success on the MD side?
