Okay, so is it really a requirement to have a letter of rec from a DO to be eligible to apply to a DO school?

I have 2 rec letters from MDs - one a electrocardiologist and the other an orthopedic surgeon
I have 2 rec letters from professors
and finally 1 rec letter from a research professor.

I shadowed a chiropractor for a year though ?
Would these qualify me ? I'm kind of confused
😕
Anything would help thanks

Some DO schools require a DO letter.

Most recommend one or highly recommend one but don't require one.

I didn't have a DO letter (only an MD letter) and have been accepted to one DO school so far. You really should shadow a DO, but an MD will do for most places. I doubt that DC shadowing can really replace MD/DO shadowing.

It's not required at all schools, but it is definitely recommended at all schools.

Also, I'm hoping that you're prepping for the next cycle. It's a tad late for this one.

You have about 6 months to shadow a DO. It'll be a while before the next cycle starts.

Completely disagree. I've received an acceptance and have multiple interviews without a do recommendation.
