I will not be taking my MCAT until next winter, but want to apply earlier than that because of the rolling admissions. Would my application be looked at prior to submitting my MCAT or should I wait for the MCAT results before applying?

And in case you may have an idea, here are my "stats"

US Marines for 5 years
Community College transferred to UC Berkeley (degree will be in Rhetoric)
Overall gpa is 3.4 Science gpa is lower??? BIO/CHEM- all B's and a C+
President of premed club and on student gov. in Comm. College

I still have to take Ochem and Phyics at UCB and realistically will keep a B average.

I don't want to take a year off after graduating, so will likely apply next year no matter what the circumstances. I won't take Physics II and BioChem until fall semester of next year to be ready for MCATs immediately afterwards. But if I apply later in the admissions process (because I won't be ready for MCATs) are my chances of getting in looking slim?

Any opinions?

Thanks for your help and best luck to you all!! Happy New Year!

You should probably be OK. I would contact the admissions coordinator of the programs that you are interested in and directly talk with them.

Thanks for serving our country.
