I am applying this cycle to med school. I finished my undergrad with a science gpa of 3.65 and a cumulative gpa of 3.68. I scored a 517 on my MCAT. My extracurriculars are good, plenty of patient contact and clinical hours, volunteering, and research at my university. I think my LORs are also very good.
I do have quite the red flag, however. About 2 year ago I was arrested and convicted for misdemeanor DUI. I have grown a ton since then, and can assure you I will never even think of doing anything alike. I addressed it on my application and stated that I take full responsibility.
My question is whether or not my application will be DOA. Is my chance of getting into a medical school extremely unlikely, or are some schools forgiving about similar criminal infractions?
