Does any one have any information on applying to HK medical programs or Taiwan medical programs? Is it difficult for foreigners?

What about practicing medicine in Hong Kong or Taiwan with a US medical degree?

I was considering a similar idea early in the app cycle, then decided against it. For one, I wanted to go to Taiwan for med school, but they have a different med program. After high school, it's straight 7 years, so they'll look at high school transcript and all. Instruction in classes are in Chinese/English. But I think it's much more difficult to come back to the states with a foreign degree, especially for residency and afterwards.

Idk much about HK, but it should be similar.

Best to stick to the states if that's where you plan to live and work.

you are going to have a pain in the ass time to prove to the US you are capable of practicing medcine in the states, that is if you are tryint to.

btw i am in SBU too.

It's insanely hard to get into a Taiwanese medical school. They're completely test-based. Every high schooler takes a test on the same day and out of ~100,000 test takers only the top 500 scorers can get a medical school spot. This information I got from a parent and also other SDN members who have had experience with the Taiwanese educational system. I don't know anything on how they treat foreigners who want to apply.

HK I have heard it is possible to attend as a foreigner but it's much easier if you have some sort of HK roots/affiliation.
