Applying to medical school is the MOST NERVE WRACKING experience of my life!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Not even close. Jumping out of a perfectly fine airplane was.

LOL. I'm sure that would be pretty intense. I'm planning on doing that before medical school. Maybe it would give me some better perspective 😀

Wait til u start prepping for step 1...

I put the stress level of my first interview way above jumping out of a plane. That is just me though. Not only that med school application season is like eight months of 7 months of stress vs. 3 minutes.

I'm gonna go with the 3 months between my last interview, and Match Day. That was rough. Seems cruel to make us wait so long.

Here's an idea for an eager opportunist for their next publication: "On the Effects of Stress while Applying to Medical School."

Next Nature paper right there.

I was a basket case from September to December, when I got in. I think about that when people talk about "deserving" to hold their acceptances until the last possible minute. I can't imagine what my state of mind would have been after a few more months.

I seriously want to go skydiving once but the .00001% chance of something going wrong is enough to scare me. Can you imagine falling from that high and knowing you are going to die the entire time? I could only hope to pass out before the impact.

I have to agree. My nerves were destroyed from October to December. Now with waitlists coming up, I am beginning to get nervous again!

If you dont get in right away, take a year off and reapply. I dont see what's so stressful 🙂

Uh-huh... Because good jobs are so easy to get right now, and going to school for additional time doesn't cost anything. Also, reapplying isn't expensive or anything, and after all, we all have endless money to spend. Oh, and our families won't be dissapointed at all, either.

I make good money and do little work 👍 Maybe you should get a better family? :meanie:
