Applying to preliminary programs - SLOR ok?

Hi all,
I've read some of you did a preliminary year before entering EM. I'm applying to both programs at the moment. I was just wondering if any of you submitted an SLOR to the preliminary programs? What were your experiences when applying to both?

At the moment I have 1 FP, 1 IM, and 2 SLOR's in total. I only submitted the FP & IM letters to the prelims, but I'm wondering if it is a good idea to submit an SLOR to these as well...or is it too specific for EM?

Any advice or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks for your help!
