I have a 3.5 GPA and got an 18 AA on the DAT
I plan on applying to all of these schools:

Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health (AZ)
Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Arizona (MWU)
Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine (WESTU)
Howard University College of Dentistry (HOW)
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Dental Medicine (LECOM-FL)
Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine (NSU)
Georgia Regents University College of Dental Medicine (GRU)
Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Illinois (MWU-IL)
Indiana University School of Dentistry (IND)
University of Kentucky College of Dentistry (UK)
Louisiana State University School of Dentistry (LSU)
Boston University Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BU)
Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUF)
University of Minnesota School of Dentistry (MIN)
Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (MOSDOH)
University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry (UMKC)
Creighton University School of Dentistry (CRE)
University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine (UNLV)
New York University College of Dentistry (NYU)
The Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry, Temple University (TEMP)
University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry (UTHSC)
Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry (MEH)
Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine (USN)
Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry (VCU)
Marquette University School of Dentistry (MQT)
West Virginia University School of Dentistry (WVA)

I know these are a lot, but I would rather be safe than sorry. Any advice on whether I should add any schools or take any schools out?

Rather than applying to all of these schools, why not just retake the DAT? I know it sucks and probably isn't the advice you want. However, doing so could not only enable you to apply to FEWER schools, but it would also increase your chances at getting into those schools.

I don't see Louisville on your list. Tennessee is OOS unfriendly. Residence would help. Obviously if Tenn or LSU are your state schools Id leave them. Buffalo is a good school to add too...

unless you are URM, I would remove Howard and Meharry

I was thinking the same thing, but didn't know if being indian was considered URM. Im guessing it doesn't?

Yea after e-submitting, I added USC to my list

Hey guys,

not nice to hijack threads, but you can keep your list as is. You will get in to one of those schools

this is a good example of taking advice from SDN with a grain of salt. luckily this applicant didn't listen to this advice and was only accepted to two schools, one being Howard.

On the other hand, if he had removed Howard, he'd still have the other acceptance and another $90 in his pocket.

Given the option between Howard and literally any other dental school, who would willingly choose Howard?

but at least he/she has options now between two schools and isn't "forced" to go to one since thats the only acceptance & seems like they were contemplating between the two schools since he/she created a thread called "howard or une" anyways i just wanted to make a point that advice given on here isn't always 100% advisable

Wow, OP is seriously considering Howard? Guess you're right, but damn. Why.

well, obviously when I was making this post, it was in the context of not wasting money and applying to places where one has a better chance. If asked again today, I'd probably give the same advice. However, I'm not one to discourage a person from applying to a school where they really want to go. I got in to a school that I didn't even think I'd get an interview. So obviously, no advice on here should be taken 100%.

Georgia only takes about one or two OOS students a year if that so unless that's where you're from I would take that school off the list and not waste money applying there.

I have the same stats. How's your EC?
I applied to 10 in Aug and got 3 interviews. In the app, I put URM (Asian) because I didn't know about it before. Oops
