Applying to too many schools?

Hello everyone!

I was wondering of applying to 15 osteo schools is too many to apply to?😳

Also, I have absolutely 0 work experience but a 1000+ hours of volunteering clinical and tutoring/teaching...am I in trouble?

thank you so much for helping!! SDN is like my surrogate advisor..😍 the one at my school is absolutely useless.🙁

That is not too many to apply to. I applied to 15 as well and others applied to even more.

If your stats are about average for DO schools I think its a good number, if they are a little low you may want to consider some back up schools.

The only hard part about applying to so many schools is filling out all the secondaries. By the end of it I was so happy to be done.

Yes, just make sure you plan out your time well for secondaries. I applied to twenty schools and am having a very difficult time getting everything together. It is more work than you think.

Thats why I recommend starting before you get the secondaries and also having the ability to modify certain essays to reuse. My why XYZ school essays all followed the same format. My why DO essay was re-used and recycled, my "why should we accept you/what do you bring" essay was the same for almost every school.

It is manageable but the more prepared you are when you start to receive the flood of secondaries, and it will be a flood at this point, the better. I was lucky because applying early meant the secondaries didn't all hit my inbox on one day.
