Applying to two programs

Does anyone know how one goes about applying to 2 different programs(i.e. rads + a backup)? At the same institution even? Does one department at an institution know that you applied to another department at the same institution? Can u schedule your interviews so that you could interview at the same institution's 2 different programs 1-2 days after each another? Is there a significant risk in doing this?

I know somebody who did three interviews at the same hospital in three dayz... ortho, anesthesia, and internal medicine... no one was the wiser, but he did say the slides about the hospital/city got pretty lame the third time around...

Ya you can do it, just have different personal statements for each, or 1 general. Of course I wouldnt mention this to any of the programs. People do this every year, tis not a big deal as long as ure discreet about it.
