I'm submitting my application to pod schools tomorrow (decided not to wait on each rec letter), and my budget won't allow me to interview at all the schools. My California schools are staying on the list, but I really need help choosing which other schools to apply to (I am looking to fly out of CA a total of 3 times at most).

I know that the pod school rankings have been discussed constantly, and there is no definitive answer as to which is best, as there shouldn't be. I am looking for a few factors, in random order, in the schools that current students can hopefully shed more light on:

Tuition + living expenses on the lower side (actual numbers)
Focus of expertise (biomechanics, etc.)
Externship quality and residency placement, given the shortage
Educational rigor (i.e. which classes taken and when)

There are tons of other factors, but these concern me the most, so if anyone can provide input that'll be great.

A lot of that information you are looking for can be found on each school's website.

I agree with meaty calves. Go to the school websites, talk to admissions, and make a pro/con list. The more research you do will allow you to make a better decision for yourself.

Good luck!

I think there is a thread comparing NYCPM and Scholl... perhaps the main points of interest may not be common ground, but at least the discussion will help guide your own points to consider (and how to weigh the importance of each) in deciding where to apply/interview/attend.
