Applying with a 3.08 GPA

Hello! I'm a recent university undergrad who left with a 3.08 GPA. All of the classes necessary for med school are A's and B's, but I sort of shot myself in my foot with all of my higher-level math and physics courses (Physics major). Currently, I'm taking the remaining classes necessary for med school at an accredited university, pulling a 3.33 GPA and hopefully going to end with something higher. I'm also researching in diagnostic radiology at a well-known research hospital. I'm sure I'll at least two good letters of recommendation from my PI's and two published papers. My undergrad has told me I qualify for a comittee letter. In addition, I'm trying to volunteer at a clinic and shadow a doctor. (Both pending at the moment). I'm currently studying for the MCAT.

I guess what I want to ask is if it's actually feasible for me to apply to med school and get in?

You have to be more specific with your GPA trend. Also, how does your sGPA (Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Physics) compare with your overall GPA? It will be easier to give advice with this information.

What do you mean you are "trying" to volunteer and shadow? You haven't actually started? You need to make sure you have both of those activities. Also, crush the MCAT.

Looking at just the prerequisite classes from undergraduate, I would say about a 3.3 GPA. With my other math and physics classes, it's more like a 2.98 GPA. It started strong dipped badly during Junior year and started going towards a more positive trend in senior year and at my postbacc. Adding the science courses I've taken as a postbacc, my cumulative is 3.15 GPA. I was told that I was going to be a volunteer for this program but I needed to have an interview first so they will know where to place me. I've been asking them about the interview since August and the coordinator just ghosted me. I'm looking into other clinical volunteer options now. I've emailed a doctor about shadowing this week and am still waiting for a response. Another thing I'm considering doing is applying for the spring 2020 semester for Academic Associate Program at Cooper University HealthCare.

OK for DO, but lethal for MD

I agree with Goro. Your best chances will be with DO schools. Your GPA is <10th %ile at almost all MD schools. You lack a significant upward trend, and your research (even if the LORs and pubs come through) is unlikely to make up for your GPA.
