Hey everyone,
First, I'd like to thank everyone for taking the time to help; you guys are great!

As I mentioned in a previous post, I took classes during high school such as physics I (during Fall 2005). I plan to apply to M-School Fall 2010 and I have been told that medical schools will not accept courses that have been taken 4 years before applying. Does anyone know the details regarding this matter?

I am also in need of general studying advice and a bit of motivation. I tend to get 9-10 hours of sleep a day and I know this is detrimental to everything in my life. Also, I'd like to know how everyone is managing their diets. I know a healthy diet helps performance in school and sometimes, I find myself worrying more about eating healthy so that I can study than actually studying.

Good luck.

The time limit was probably for the MCAT.

The question of whether med schools will accept a PEP college class is open to debate. Some will, some won't.

Stay up longer or get up earlier. Don't take naps. Drink a lot of water. Don't eat a lot of crap... ask your mom.

Med schools will accept all college coursework that you've done. Don't worry about having to retake that class.

I don't think your sleep habit is bad at all.. just because some pre-meds think their life isn't complete unless they're sleeping 5 hours a day and are completely miserable, doesn't mean you have to. I got a solid 8-9 every day in college and turned out just fine. Just get your work done.

I'm not following you on why 9-10 hours of sleep is a bad thing. I usually got about 9 hours. Sleep is healthy!

If you're sleeping that much because your diet sucks, start eating better. Probably the most important change you can make is eating a healthy breakfast, if you don't already. Grab a bowl of non-sugary cereal and a piece of fruit. That's plenty to get you moving. Also, cut out the junk food, and drink a bunch of water, like the previous poster said.

Most importantly, start exercising! Even just jogging around your block or doing some push-ups will make a difference. It may seem like you can't spare an hour a day (or half an hour), but you'll be glad you did. I went to the gym every other day for about 1.5 hours, and it always made a huge difference in my focus.

Wow, I always thought that is TOO much sleep. I average a good 9.5 hours a night and I'm a night owl. I would love to be a morning person, but I'm not sure how to go about doing so and sticking to it.

either just force yourself to do it or just keep going how you are. if you're getting everything done, why change?

Anyone else hate getting 8 hours of sleep or more? My day is shot if I do. Even in middle school and high school most nights I'd get max 7 hours. Right now I avergae between 6.5-7. On weekends it's the same deal, I feel more sluggish and lethargic when I sleep 8 or more hours.
In the mornings I have a tough time getting out of bed but after 20 minutes and some coffee I feel great all day. Also, I just couldn't sleep that much if I wanted too. Tons of my time dedicated to sleep is really just me lying awake thinking... I'd say I'm a pretty high-strung person, I hate inactivity...

Anyone else?

Yeah, my biggest problem is also getting up from sleep. I usually awaken to find myself extremely tired and just fall back asleep. lol
