Hi, I am having great difficulty finding appropriate professional clothing. I am 5'1 and categorized as petite, Apart from the usual high street places, does anyone know of any smart professional clothing sites for petite women?

YES!! New York and Company. I get all my clothes there. Thay have great sales every day. They cater to the small woman and all their clothes are color co-ordinated so you don't have to think too hard in the morning about what matches. It all matches. They carry everything except bras.

Also Ann Taylor has a good line of petites. Anywhere you go, you may sttill have to find a good tailor and get your slacks tailored. For a good pair of slacks, it is worth it.

Banana Republic. I buy EVERYTHING either on sale or with a discount. I have their credit card and spend enough at Banana Republic/Gap/Old Navy that I get free hemming as well.

I'll add Talbot's and Loft to the list. My wife is 5' tall, and shops at all of the stores mentioned.

I'm not petite (5'5") but agree with the above: Ann Taylor, Banana Republic and J Crew all have nice suits for both regular size and petites.

Ann Taylor will often have 50% of new inventory or more off sales, making it more reasonable on a resident budget.

I know some people write off Talbot's as too "Mom-ish" but I have a few cute things from there!

Thanks guys for the great info,

I agree with Ann Taylor and Banana Republic, I'm from the U.K so they are not that popular here, however I came across a website that caters for petite professionals, Jeetly.com, I haven't bought off them yet but would like to know if anyone has? I'm looking for a statement dress for my presentation.

I also like Target Mossimo and Merona brands. They are all light weight and come in XS sizes that I love. They are reasonably priced at 15-30 bucks. I am 5'4''.

Macy's Inc line use to have a good petites section. Maybe they still do? For shoes, Nordstrom is the best.

Nothing new to add. But I live in the BR sales rack.

I also have a selection of Ann Taylor black skirts from their petites section.
