Apps helpful for Omfs residency

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
There are quite a few that are helpful - it's just a matter of finding one or two that you like using and getting familiar with so they're actually good resources. Sometimes if you use too many apps, then you can get overwhelmed because you dont know which one to use in which situation, etc.

Here are a few that I've used for different things over the last few years:
Epocrates
MedCalX
NCCN Guidelines
John Hopkins ABX guide
Evernote - if you have your own quick notes or reminder lists, this can be helpful as a very quick reference. You can put in things like what a specific attending may want in their OR for a certain case or something like that.

We use Tap2Visit to arrange appointments with clients online. It's available on Android/iOS/Windows for free so you can download it here to start with https://www.tap2visit.com

Just remembered...I also recommend some sort of Password storage app like Keeper or something like that. You'll probably have a ton of user names and passwords that change every 3 months and are hard to keep straight. There will be a ton of EHRs in the various hospitals, but then also several didactic, vendor, and other websites that you may need to keep track of.

Check out Touch Surgery, it's still new but new OMFS-related material is in works.

AO surgery reference at the top of the list for any OMFS resident.
Read by QxMD is an excellent resource for reading articles by keyword or journal.
Clinicalkey is a database available to subscribing institutions with textbooks and articles. Surprisingly has a decent amount of OMFS texts (Fonseca, Atlas, Current therapy, Neville path). Updates to the latest textbook edition when available too!
