Hi everyone, i am starting a new thread fro all of us who r taking part 1 in april. I would like to share my preparation and doubts as i go along with my preparation. I am studying mainly from decks and question papers and refering the kaplan review only for doubts. I will keep you all posted incase i have any doubts which need explanation . good luck to all of you

Organisms belonging to which of the following genera can tolerate the lowest pH
1.veillonella
2.bacteroides
3.streptococcus
4.lactobacillus
5.staphyloccus

The answer is lactobacillus

Can anyone explain why not streptococcus!!!

Planning to give my exam in April ...i just finished my micro-path.started with Anat.i wanna join u guys....i would like to share my doubts and preparation...i think v need to revise 2 or 3 times.coz i dont remember a bit of micro-path now.so,how u guy reading exactly....iam reading dental decks and kaplan in between....iam not sure that will be enough?so plz tell me ur opinion...

I tried to find out the answer,i looked in dental decks and kaplan too...they say...both r acidogenic and aciduric but i dont know y only lactobacillus is the answer...let me know if u find out the reason..gud luck....!

hi,
they both are aciduric and acidogenic but lactobacillus survives at a lower PH....
and the question is which survives at a lower ph.
it is the same reason that initaition of caries is by strepto but spead is by lacto.....

i too am planning to give by national boards in july , u all plan to give in april so u prefer CBT i suppose ..........let me know i am still confused whether to give CBT or written .
