Has anyone ever been wait-listed at Arcadia and then accepted? A friend of mine thought he was accepted into the program and were then placed on a wait-list (I believe there are about 14-15 other people on it) after he sent in his deposit too late. Just wondering what the chances are of him getting into the program, and if anyone had a similar experience.

Thanks!

Thanks for posting this. The exact thing just happened to me. I thought I was in, sent in a deposit, and then today received an email that I'm on the waitlist. I guess I misunderstood the initial "acceptance" so I was a bit disappointed. Hopefully someone here will have some input.

I'm going somewhere else, so that will open up a spot for you. 🙂

I also heard they notify you as soon as a spot opens up. Do you know if they give out where you stand on the wait-list?

I talked to them the other day too, and they said that the students that sent in their $500 deposit and have their seat reserved, have until March 14th to pay the next deposit of $1000 or they will forfeit their seat in the program as well. So keep a heads up around March 14th to see if more seats open up...

I received a phone call this morning saying I was removed from the wait list and have until Monday to give my $1000 deposit.

I was wondering if anyone had any other updates for Arcadia's application cycle. This past Saturday I received a packet in the mail saying I have been waitlisted. Has anyone else received similar mail? I feel that receiving the notice this late into the cycle means I'm at the bottom of the waitlist; I don't even know how big the waitlist is, or how many people are still reserving their waitlist seats. I'm still hoping for the best though, this is my only chance left this application year.

situational, i received the same thing from arcadia. It is very late in the cycle, but it's interesting because, if they were just sending out waitlist letters to take deposits (without refunding them) that would make sense as a way to make more money, but they are offering a refund if we do not receive an acceptance by June 28. that sentence came out strange haha but see what i am saying?

I think it is to maintain the numbers on the waitlist. Perhaps they would always like, say, 20 people on the waitlist. If two people have been accepted recently from the waitlist, then the program needs to fill those two vacant slots on the waiting list as well.

That being said, I was informed that there are less than 20 people currently (including me) on the waitlist. With a class size of 60 seats, it is very possible that a couple here and there may decline in the coming months. I am really hoping that luck swings in my favor, because Arcadia is one of my top choices, and I really, really would not like to go through the application cycle once more.

Good luck!

we had 2 people from our current class that got notified off the waitlist- one was notified about a month before school, and one was notified about a week before school started....just be prepared that it could come at any time. I think they will even give an acceptance to the program up through the first week of school.
