I looked around and couldn't find a straight answer in forums or on the AAMC's own guidelines. I was wondering if you are allowed to bring a calculator (scientific or basic) into the exam. I know that they used to allow it on the paper and pencil MCAT, but I'm not sure if they still allow it on the new exam (or do you have to do all the calculations in your head).

No calculators are allowed. The only thing you're allowed to bring into the test room is a pencil and a booklet of scratch paper (both provided for you).

You don't need a calculator. All you need to do is write the physics formulas in a small sheet and put them in your pocket. I also wrote lots of memory aids for the bio section. It's easier than storing it into a calculator.

hopefully he was joking about that...
but back to the question...be VERY happy you cant use a calculator...lord knows what things you would have to calculate if they allowed it...I dont care how much you have stored on your TI, it wouldn't save you...they'd make sure of it.

Believe it or not, I wasn't joking

I mean, it's just like any old exam we take in school. You know the classic write answers on your arm trick and stick notecards down your pants tricks. Those helped me get top grades in school!

He is joking obviously. You're being filmed while taking the test, so taking a little piece of paper out surreptitously is an easy thing to catch if you're doing it over and over again. Besides, memorizing the formulas is the easy part, it's knowing when to use them that gets a little complicated.
You're not even allowed to wear a digital watch.

Uh...when? Last I checked, they never allowed them. Not even pencil and paper.
