Hey guys,

I just graduated from a Canadian high school and honestly have nothing productive to do this summer. I've been thinking of doing a bunch of ECs and getting a part-time job as an early start to filling up my med/dent school resume.
However I've also heard that any highschool ecs do not carry much, if any, weight. I was wondering if that also applied to ecs done right after highschool/the summer before my first year of college?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.. I appreciate any help/advice.

In the USA, ECs after HS graduation are considered to be "during the college years." YMMV in Canada.

In addition to counting as your college years, there is the matter of setting a trend and setting yourself up for the next opportunity.
Having done something, even if you don't write about it in your AMCAS four years from now, will have helped you get that first thing you put on your AMCAS. It'll get you moving in professional development so I'd say go.
