Are fellowship programs notified/aware when new documents are released to them, well after application submitted?

ERAS application was submitted to programs while still waiting for a recommender to upload their letter. The LOR was added and then released to all programs about twenty days later. Would the programs know that an additional LOR was added to the application? Are they notified when new application materials are released? Is this something that could be overlooked, and/or might they not look at an applicant after the initial submission date if all materials aren't accounted for at that time? For context, this is a noncompetitive specialty and a solid applicant (aside from a late LOR).

Not exactly.

No, programs do not get automatically notified of ERAS updates or changes. Honestly, if we did, it would be overwhelming to most programs.

But programs can run a report asking for all updates in a certain timeframe. How many might do this, I don't know. Honestly it's not very helpful.

Any program reviewing applications will immediately see your application if the addition of the letter now makes it fit the criteria of their search.

Chances are a non-competitive program / field will be constantly reviewing applications and see the addition. If it will make you sleep better, you could email them with an update. Results are likely to be the same either way.
