are IMGs + non us citizens considered for path residency by US medical universities? if yes, what else is required in addition to steps' scores? (please mention the recommended scores, if you know). will a clerkship in path suffice? or is research mandatory? I've done clinical electives at Cornell, Edinburgh in UK, and Brazil. none of it in path though.

how are job opportunities after pathology residency( if one does get it) , esp for non us citizens 'cause of all the visa issues? as always, please be brutally honest 😉

thanks!

Job opportunities are generally poor for those who are unable to scan a site before they post to determine whether the questions has been previously discussed.

In other words, this general topic has come up on here before and I don't think the answers will have changed.

For pathology one needs to have all of the usual stuff any IMG/FMG is required to have for any other medical specialty when they come to the U.S. for residency, which (unless it's changed recently) is ECFMG certification. That encompasses all the other basic requirements.

wow "flindophile".. i guess your life sucks so much that you have to take your frustrations out on a forum, by being rude to other members, where no one knows who you really are( just like maaaaany others on this specific forum).. and you are protected in this cute little cyber bubble of yours.. you don't attract anyone's attention to your cries, just pity!
