are labs included in the BCMP gpa? I go to UT Austin and the lab courses are entirely separate from the classes themselves.

BCPM, and yes they are included. This type of arrangement is pretty common.

It depends. If your school separates the credits between the lecture and lab sections, then they will be included. But some schools have labs as zero-hour courses and for those, labs wouldn't have an impact on GPA calculations at all.
