Are MD programs need-blind?

That is to say, would students who are able to pay tuition up front have an advantage over those of us who have to take out loans?
 
Most MD programs aren't for-profit so no. Plus they don't know your financial background until after your accepted.

I'm pretty sure most universities are non-profit, and I'm pretty sure a large number of them do not declare themselves to be need-blind.
 
whether you pay tuition in cash or take out loans makes no difference to them...either way they get their money

and ejay is right they have no idea what your finances are like until after you are accepted ...unlike college admissions you don't file your financial aid at the same time as your application
 
lol if it wasn't, all those FAP people would be so screwed
