Im having to miss substantial class-time, including one day where testing is scheduled, to travel for these interviews. This particular instructor seems to be getting annoyed with my need to miss classes and is counting them as unexcused (small lecture, attendance counts in a large way toward grade). What should I do? Does anyone else run into these problems?

Talk to your pre-med advisor, mine writes letters to the instructors to let them know.
