Hey SDN, I don't know how the community feels as a whole about questions like this but I will ask anyways. Last year I applied to dental schools with 20AA/18TS, 3.3gpa, (3.0 science) and tons of extracurricular. I received no interviews and I even applied to "easy" schools (clearly not easy for me).
This year I will apply again with only 3 new science classes taken, all A's, 22AA/22TS, and even more dental shadowing. I live in California and will only be applying to California schools and Arizona schools, and Harvard just for ****s and giggles (my professor who wrote letter of rec is Harvard prodigy). I want to know if my DAT has increased my odds at all. I received 21+ in every section except PAT where I got 20. I know my new grades won't do much and I can imagine dental shadowing cannot add that much more weight if I already have a lot.
Can I expect at least one interview this year? It was pretty devastating last year.
