When I see other MDapps profile I feel like i should do more but i know that's normal especially on sdn. I haven't taken mcat yet but lets say i get an average score (not too great not too bad idk 29?) would the EC's I have suffice? I just don't have time to do any more. I think i have good decent long term EC but I feel that I can almost double the number of EC if I drop the ones I have and start brand new list EC's.

Another thing is to me at least they seam boring and plain that ad comms see in most applicants already. I don't know if that is a big deal or not. Do Ad comms care more about Commitment or quantity?

Any helpful advise or comments are welcomed! Thanks

I think you have a good variety of EC, including volunteer, shadow and research. Also, it looks like you've been dedicated to these ECs for a while. The thing about "fluffing" your CV is that it's just that, fluffing. Sure, you'll have a ton of ECs, but they won't be quality. The ones you have right now show that you've been in it for a while. It shows commitment. If you start new ones just for the sake of having more, ad coms will know right away that you are doing it just to boost your CV. You're fine, just stick with what you're doing, get some good LoRs from the people you're doing the ECs with.

Good luck

your ecs look fine to me, just rock that mcat and you will be in the md boat.

uh, how are your ECs average by any means?????????

They are fine as far as I can see. Since your high school stuff is in the context of stuff you sorta continued doing in college its fine to list it. Otherwise usually highschool stuff doesn't count for much.

I know its easy to be neurotic about stuff but don't overload cuz you see something on SDN someone else has done that you haven't. Just keep doing what you are doing and focus on getting good scores while doing it, writing good essays for apps, and getting strong letters, and a strong mcat score.

Don't stress.

BTW I agree with Mattng

And last but not least, you are a TEXAN. Best state to be a premed cuz while you have the match system and a separate app process, at least you have schools that are

1. Far cheaper but still decently reputed.
2. Schools that are a bit easier to get into then say states like cali or mass where schools are too competitive to get into.

Don't stress. You are in good shape.

If all your shadowing was done during the HS years, I suggest you do a bit more in college so you can include it on the med school application. HS activities are not much regarded unless they continue into the college years, the way your blood drive activities did.

I think that your activities list looks good.
