Just wanted to post and ask some people who maybe are further in there career than me at the moment or who have talked to admission committees about DAT scores. I have a 3.4 GPA and making deans list for the first time end of junior year going into applications and have demonstrated an upward trend with having a 3.1 end of my freshman year. I am feeling pretty good with all my other application points like shadowing, LORs and volunteering.

My DAT scores for 7/21 are as follows:

QR: 440
RC: 380
BIO: 420
GC: 450
OC: 410
TS: 430
PAT: 420
AA: 420 (20 on old scale)

Only one I am a little worried about is RC but I am happy that my scores are all around the same and there are no outliers as well as my TS being a little higher than my AA. Thank you for the feedback !

You’re in a really good place overall, a solid GPA trend, great extracurriculars, and a well-balanced DAT.

Your AA of 420 (20 on the old scale) with no extreme outliers across sections is a huge plus. A lot of committees like to see consistency like that. Your Total Science at 430 stands out too, and that often holds more weight than RC for many schools.

Yes, RC at 380 is on the lower end (around 18), but I’ve seen plenty of students get interviews — and even acceptances — with similar or lower, especially when everything else is strong. It’s something to keep an eye on, but it doesn’t look like a dealbreaker, especially if you’re applying broadly and highlighting that upward trend in your GPA.

You're doing great, just keep pushing forward. Wishing you the best this cycle!

Thank you for that, it makes me worry way less because nowadays you hear all the people who have significantly higher DAT and GPAs lol. Can I ask schools you think I have a good shot at and some that may be reach schools but still a chance ?

Absolutely and you’re wise to think about both target and reach schools! With your upward GPA trend and balanced DAT scores (especially that solid 430 TS), you’ll be competitive at a lot of state schools and mid-tier private programs. Those schools usually value consistency and growth.

Biggest tip: Apply broad, be yourself, and don’t underestimate the power of a great personal statement. Don’t be afraid to call admissions for advice. You’re stronger than you think—just keep your eyes on the finish line!

Wishing you the best,
Nancy
